How Villages of Pakistan Get Power?

Pakistan is no longer among those countries which have their villages out of electricity. Electricity was the most innovative revolution in the world that changed the globe. It was a revolution 2.0 after the Carnot cycle or Stream Engine revolution 1.0. This is the age of the Internet revolution 4.0. Still, our electricity demands are on the increase with the increasing population. In this age, we have produced advanced methods for energy generation. It would be great to discuss how the people of Pakistan have pushed several techniques to bring change in their living lifestyle and how they power themselves in tough environments.

Energy itself is not useful. We have to convert it to another form of energy to make use of it. For example, we use the potential energy/mechanical energy of water in dams and then mechanical energy is converted to electrical energy due to preinstalled generators. Then again we utilize electricity to drive something mechanical such as washing machines, fans and air conditioners. All we do is convert energy into some useful form of energy.

In past, we have been using several traditional methods of electricity generation which are somehow unsustainable. It includes the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, butane gas, wood and nuclear power. These all are harmful to the environment as they emit tons of carbon particles in the atmosphere. Not only carbon dioxide but carbon monoxide when inhaled, Red blood cells ingest it which damages the oxygen-absorbing power. Not only this but many pollutant gases such as Nitroxide and toxic sulphur fumes are released which causes acid rain. Several monuments have been damaged and corroded due to acid rain.

The use of radioactive materials in nuclear power plants has been also causing harm to the environment. After the use of material, private generation companies release the radioactive waste into the sea or ocean without any pre-treatment. Fission reactions have been effective, but they are not reliable.

Pakistan is facing energy crises and load shedding is one of the concerns that has pushed the country’s progress for several years. The government is trying to introduce several incentives to make people generate their own energy and earn money by providing it to the national grid.

Tando Soomro Village has covered Electric Polls, their rainwater never gets settled but drained easily through the good drainage system, Dust bins are placed in every place to keep the environment clean. The annual Meeting is held in Village Tando Soomro for the budget. There is very good governance and maintenance.

A time will come when there will be no more solid materials such as coal and nuclear substances left for power. It is expected that we will run out of fuel and before this thing happens we must turn on other renewable sources of energy. Solar panels are the best choice to save electricity. You won’t believe that the concept of modern villages really exists in Pakistan. But it’s true.

Villages in Pakistan are independently producing their own energy. The best examples include the villages that are near Karachi and Hyderabad. In Sindh province, Tando Soomro, Hatri village and Hala are great examples. These villages give us an extraordinary example of innovation in a way that how backend rural areas can be powered by electricity. The homes located in these villages get their power from solar panels and even the agricultural machinery that is being used is also powered by solar energy. Villagers are now reluctant to use the old diesel engines to pump water. Even the harvesters used by them are being replaced with efficient machines that should also be powered by solar energy. The students at Sindh Agriculture University are indulging in research to find new ways of harvesting and engineers are focusing on the provision of electric power to every corner for the development of rural areas. People of villages are Now looking for more ways that can bring comfort to their livelihood.

Solar panels are better in many ways along with their few disadvantages that they become toxic waste after completing their lifetime. The average life span of a solar cell is about 10 years to 25 years. Solar Panels are the best substitute for fossil fuel energy because they do not emit any carbon or harmful material into the environment hence, they are eco-friendly.

The surprising thing about solar energy is that it is free. There is sunlight for at least 12 hours a day and it is enough to charge the batteries for night-time usage. In the daylight, we often get light in our rooms through the sunlight and if not, some of us get the direct energy from solar plates. Solar plates do not cause noise pollution as fuel generators do and these are silent. There are no moving parts in its mechanism that may require maintenance and continuous checking. It is just free from all those headaches which a common fuel generator possesses.

Inverter technology has been introduced in almost every appliance series ranging from the fans to the air conditioners. DC Inverter technology is the latest technology being used to make the machines more power-efficient. DC machine does not require any starting torque which is commonly found in AC current motors which consumes more power in watts. DC motors are cheap and easy to repair as compared to AC motors. These generally have low ratings of voltage such as 12V or 24V. So, try to purchase only that electric item that is invertor technology-enabled.

In hot summers, when the temperature is above 60 degrees Celsius. Invertor-based air conditioners are used which are equipped with T-type or T3 compressors. R410a refrigerant gas is widely used in Pakistan and is highly environmentally friendly.

In 2018, the newly-elected Pakistani government announced to plant 18 Billion trees in the name of the project “Ten Billion Tree Tsunami”. Not only did the administration announce but also practically implemented the project which was endorsed by the United Nations and the General Assembly.

Similarly, the use of DC bulbs is also beneficial in terms of energy savings. In the old days, we had filament lamps based on tungsten wire, then energy savers (glass type bulbs) arrived in the market and now the LED bulbs are being sold. DC LED Bulbs are also now available. Their circuits are so simple that everyone can repair them easily. Especially, in Pakistan, the DC wiring system is the best choice. Modern homes that are being built in Pakistan are equipped with not only the AC wiring system, but DC wiring has been gaining popularity due to its long-term benefits and reliability.

People of Pakistan have changed their living behaviour due to rising concerns about climate change. The people have turned positive in terms of future concerns and they have aimed at revolutionizing the whole electric sector of the country. The nation is united to fight for the next generations.
